26.7.2011 - Baumann Druck grows with RIMA-SYSTEM
The web offset printer Baumann Druck in Kulmbach which belongs to the Mediengruppe Oberfranken in Bamberg (www.mediengruppe-oberfranken.de) has again decided for a for a fully automatic RIMA-SYSTEM Post Press System behind their new Lithoman IV 64p (Autoplate) press. The Mediengruppe Oberfranken combines the business segments newspaper and commercial publishers, book and specialist publishers, electronic media, editorial offices, printing houses and distribution services. In the printing segment of the Mediengruppe Oberfranken more than 300 employees produce inserts, magazines, flyers, brochures, newspapers, catalogues and books at two locations in Bamberg and Kulmbach: a heatset printing plant (Baumann Druck), a coldset printing plant (Presse Druck Oberfranken) and a sheetfed printer (creo Druck & Medienservice).
Baumann Druck is another faithful customer that has grown tohether with us. Already in 2007 behind a Zirkon 8p press and 2008 behind a Lithoman 40p press RIMA-SYSTEM was the preferred supplier. The current installation is another step in increasing the overall productivity with a strong focus on minimized start-up times and highest availability. The centrally controlled post press system consists of RS 840 double-stream trimming lines, RS 36S compensating stackers with direct coupled RS 110 blocking units and a RS 610 log stacker. Both, compensated stacks and logs are piled down by an RS 400 palletizing robot with two 4-axis arms. Depending on the production the gripping tool will be changed automatically. The integrated Job-Ticket-Software allows to manage all relevant production data (formats, trim sizes, bundle specifications, etc.) and transfer them to the connected machines. The whole installation is very accessible and operator-friendly. A modern PPMS-software processes all order-relevant data. This makes it possible to run the complete equipment (press and post press) with a minimized crew. In addition, a sophisticated analysis software helps to optimize the production process by giving detailed data about under- and over-production and waste-counts.
